Yoni Steaming Guide

Steam Setup

Create a safe sanctuary for yourself where you will be undisturbed. Put on some calming music, burn incense or anything that may assist you to go deeper within.

Place 1/4 cup of herbs into a pot or bowl with a few cups of boiling water, cover and steep for 5 minutes. During this time, you can set an intention or whisper blessings to the herbs.

Squat, kneel or child’s pose over the bowl, with a towel/blanket wrapped around your waist to contain the steam (if you don't have a designated steam chair).

Use this time to lengthen your inhales and exhales, allowing every breath to bring you deeper into your womb space. Visualise that breath clearing out any physical or energetical blockages.

Steam for 10 – 15 minutes, then hydrate and allow for rest (depending on gentle or advanced steam setup).

*Please use caution around hot bowl, cover the sides with a towel to protect legs from heat of bowl.

What to expect after

Ensure to keep yourself warm, especially your feet! Hydrate yourself and maintain a state of calm and relaxation.

You may experience different things following a steam, such as releasing energetically or emotionally.

You may notice an increased amount of discharge, or your subsequent period may result in clots/dark older blood causing a heavier bleed. This is perfect as your womb is being cleansed.

Depending on your intention, your cycle may shorten, or lengthen. Several steams may be advised in order to either achieve your desired results, or maintain them.

On yoni health

It's incredibly important to look after your womb and yoni. It's best to wear breathable, cotton underwear (or any natural fibre) for general day-to-day.

Period health and hygiene has taken many a turns in the last few years. We are sold objects to stick into our yoni's for our "convenience" in order to get on with our lives. Unfortunately these products are often laced with chemicals and synthetic materials that are completely unsafe for our health. Of course, "free-bleeding" onto the Earth is both not for everyone, and may also not be possible depending on what you do - I have found period underwear to be the best thing - not only are they far more better depending on the materials used, but they are so much more economical. There are varying absorbency types, and as long as I use the correct one, I never leak!

Please also NEVER use essential oils in or around your vagina. The vagina has such a delicate microbiome. This also goes for "vagina cleansers, soaps, wipes etc" that claim to restore Ph - so unnecessary.

Look after your yoni, and by extension, your womb.
